Skyline's journey started in 1981 when founder Hylton Hensman of Skyline Enterprises acquired farmland on the city-facing slopes of Mt Ngongotaha. On March 10, 1985, Skyline Skyrides Rotorua officially opened its doors, and over the past 30 years, the attraction has welcomed more than eight million visitors to ride the Gondolas.
