The conflict
In Attack of the Clones, Anakin’s journey shifts from innocence to inner struggle. Now a young Jedi Padawan under Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin begins to wrestle with conflicting emotions. He is torn between his duty to the Jedi Order and his personal desires, especially his forbidden love for Padmé Amidala. This secret relationship plants the seeds of defiance, as Anakin starts questioning the rigid rules of the Jedi.

At the same time, Anakin’s darker impulses begin to surface. His fear of loss and his anger become defining traits, most notably when he discovers his mother’s suffering on Tatooine. Consumed by grief and rage, Anakin massacres an entire Tusken Raider camp—an act that foreshadows his eventual fall to the dark side. His inability to control these emotions reveals the conflict growing within him.

Beyond his personal struggles, Anakin is also caught in the larger conflict engulfing the galaxy. The Republic faces the rising threat of the Separatists, and war is inevitable. As a Jedi, Anakin fights bravely in battle, yet his increasing desire for power and his distrust in the Jedi Council make him vulnerable to outside influence—especially from Chancellor Palpatine, who slowly begins to manipulate him.
