The M3 CS sheds weight by going from an aluminium based hood to carbon fibre reinforced plastic. It allowed a weight fall of about 50% from the M3 Competition xDrive.

A new CFRP diffuser leads to a large contribution in the weight reduction from the M3 to the M3 CS. Also, the M3 CS features a new CFRP rear spoiler, improving aerodynamics and handling while adding downforce.

Under the headlights, we see the introduction of a new CFRP splitter, improving front-end downforce and contributing to the overall more aggressive look of the M3 CS.

Below the hood, motorsport inspired daytime-running lights are present, a homage to the M4 GT3 that runs in multiple races, like the GT World Challenge Europe, endurance races like 24 Hours of Spa, 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 24 Hours of Nurburgring.
