tactics

there are many techniques & tactics in squash

dropshot

one such technique is called a dropshot. this is when you hit the ball really lightly so when it hits the wall it goes straight down. another way of doing a dropshot is by grazing the bottom of the ball gracefully so it hits the wall and goes straight down.

boast

a boast is where you hit the ball on the side wall before it hits the front wall. this is used to change the trajectory quickly to confuse your opponent on where it is going to go so they are slower on getting to the ball.

lob

a lob is when you hit the ball softly against the wall but you make it go very high up and very far back so it goes over the opponent. this makes it harder for your opponent to hit as it is right against the wall.

volley

a volley is when you hit the ball before it hits the ground. This stuns your opponent because they expect for you to wait for the ball to hit the ground before you hit it.

crosscourt drive

a crosscourt drive is when you hit the ball to the opposite side of the court of your opponent. this makes it so your opponent has to run a further distance and tires your opponent out.
