# ![Select Hidden ON](images/icons/Selection_SelectHidden-ON.png) Select Hidden

Use the __Select Hidden__ action to determine whether ProBuilder selects or ignores hidden elements when you perform a drag-selection. Clicking the __Select Hidden__ button to switch between the two states: __On__ or __Off__.

Depending whether you are in [text mode or icon mode](toolbar.md#buttonmode), the button displays the following to indicate what state the action is in:

| **Icon mode:**                                             | **Text mode:**    | **Description:**                                           |
| :----------------------------------------------------------- | --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| ![Select Hidden ON](images/icons/Selection_SelectHidden-ON.png) | **Hidden: On**  | Drag selection selects all [elements](modes.md), regardless of their visibility. |
| ![Select Hidden OFF](images/icons/Selection_SelectHidden-OFF.png) | **Hidden: Off** | Drag selection ignores any [elements](modes.md) that you can't currently see. |

This action is available in all [edit modes](modes.md).

> **Tip**: You can also launch this action from the ProBuilder menu (**Tools** > **ProBuilder** > **Interaction** > **Toggle Select Back Faces**).
