Episode I: The Phantom Menace

In Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi are sent to resolve a Trade Federation blockade of Naboo but discover a hidden Sith plot. They rescue Queen Padmé Amidala and, during their escape, meet young Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine, a slave boy with extraordinary Force potential whom Qui-Gon believes is the prophesied “Chosen One.” Returning to Naboo, Padmé allies with the Gungans to fight back, Anakin accidentally destroys the droid control ship, and Obi-Wan defeats the Sith apprentice Darth Maul, though Qui-Gon is killed. With his dying wish, Qui-Gon asks Obi-Wan to train Anakin, as the Jedi sense both promise and danger in the boy, while the shadow of the Sith looms over the galaxy.
