History Of Grunge Music

From 80s hard rock to the post-punk alternative music. In between there was Grunge, This style of music consisted of murky guitar bands that emerged from Seattle in the last 80s and early 90s. It was a defining bridge in the rock and haevy rock genre between Heavy Metal, Hard rock and Punk music. On this website you will see some of the history of the music, the bands and most importantly the musicians themselves. The big four, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains.

But after the death of quite possibly one of the most influential people in music history, Kurt Cobain (See Nirvana page for more info) Grunge seemed to die out. While some of the bigger names of the genre continued to flourish others have faded out and aren't the same as they were in their Prime.
