The aim of mewing is to improve and increase the definition of the jawline and facial structure. The practice has exploded in popularity in 2024 due to social media, especially with the culture and presentability of short form content such as TikTok and Youtube shorts. As such, videos of influencers mentioning or interacting with the topic of mewing are common, whether satirical or genuine.
Firstly, mewing doesn't work lol. There is no scientific evidence of mewing being able to reform a person's jawline. Secondly, it is not uncommon for individuals to comment that incredibly defined jawlines are unattractive, or at worst, ugly. Lastly, it's goofy.
